Natalia Whiting Bonner is a lifelong maker, educator, and passionate advocate for modern machine quilting. With more than two decades of quilting experience, her journey began at a home sewing machine, piecing quilt tops simply for the love of creating. What started as a creative outlet quickly grew into a calling.
In 2007—while pregnant with her daughter—Natalia made a bold leap of faith. She left her career as a dental assistant, walked into a longarm dealer’s shop, and purchased a longarm machine with little more than determination and a deep belief in her craft. That moment changed everything. Since then, her passion for quilting, teaching, and design has only continued to grow.
Today, Natalia is known for her approachable teaching style, thoughtful design philosophy, and ability to make even complex quilting techniques feel achievable. From intricate show quilts to meaningful everyday projects, she believes every quilt deserves intention, creativity, and confidence. She teaches nationally at quilt guilds and major quilting events, appears in television and online classes, and is widely recognized for her award-winning work and innovative approach to machine quilting.
Natalia is the author and co-author of multiple best-selling quilting books and the designer behind a custom line of machine-quilting rulers created to help quilters quilt with clarity and confidence. Her latest work focuses on daily, practical quilting designs that encourage consistency, creativity, and growth—one stitch at a time.
She is a Gammill Quilt Artist and an experienced online instructor, dedicated to inspiring quilters of all skill levels to trust their instincts, keep learning, and enjoy the process just as much as the finished quilt.
